The follicular cycle is what comes after your menstrual cycle. Your hormones are at low levels and slowly beginning to increase. Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH) increases to help eggs mature in the ovary. The overall hormonal effect on the brain is one of openness to new things, creativity and beginnings. Brainstorming and creativity are high during this time so take advantage of that.
Try something new for exercise to spice things up a little bit and take advantage of your openness during this cycle.
You should focus on fresh, vibrant and light foods to help your body feel more energized during this cycle. Think; salads, plenty of vegetables, lean proteins like turkey or chicken, seeds and energy sustaining grains like buckwheat, oats and quinoa.
